Eligibility Criteria for the Honjo Foundation Scholarship 2024 in Japan:
- The scholarship is open to all international students from all countries, except those holding Japanese citizenship.
- To be eligible for the Honjo International Foundation Scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled or intend to enroll in a graduate program in Japan, with the academic course commencing in September or October 2024.
- Both current students and those not yet enrolled (including employed individuals) can apply if they plan to enroll during the specified period.
- Generally, students enrolled in a professional graduate school are not eligible, but those who can present a research plan can apply.
- For doctoral program applicants, the age limit is 35 years. For master’s program applicants, the age limit is 30 years.
- Similarly, applicants must have a strong intention to contribute to their home country upon completion.
- A demonstration of understanding of international friendship and goodwill is required. Participation in foundation events and alumni networks is also expected.
- Applicants must have the ability to engage in daily conversations in Japanese. Interviews will be conducted in Japanese without exception.
