UEPG is featured among the best universities in international ranking
The State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) is among the highlights of Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, which lists the main Latin American and Caribbean institutions. The 2020 ranking included 166 universities across 13 countries.
This year, UEPG is ranked in the 65th position. UEPG ranks 2nd place among the evaluated state universities of Paraná and 4th place among public and private universities of Paraná.
The performance indicators taken into account in the ranking are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).
The director of Institutional Evaluation, Elismara Zaias Kailer, points out that UEPG has made significant progress in recent years. The director states that “In 2018, the institution was ranked 91-100, in 2019 it was ranked between 81-90 and in 2020 it is in the 65th position. This result shows the university’s collective effort and all the work developed regarding teaching, research, extension and matters of internationalization”.
According to UEPG’s Rector, Miguel Sanches Neto, “the increasing improvement in the ranking performed by THE magazine and in other rankings shows how the university has matured as a whole in its various areas and demonstrates that the institution has been occupying a position of excellence in Brazil and in the world”.
The Rector also stresses that UEPG’s current administration has been working in every way so that the university becomes increasingly recognized. “We want our students, professors and agents to be even more proud to be part of one of the best rated universities in the global university system.”
