MASTER’S IN HISTORY
The subjects that make up the curriculum have been articulated to provide theoretical and methodological support for students, in accordance with its objective of training and qualifying History professionals, with a view to solid training for the production of knowledge and research focused on the area of Culture and Regionalities. They will be distributed as follows:
16 credits in compulsory disciplines of the Common Core of the Master’s Degree:
. History Theory (4 credits)
. Methods and Techniques of Historical Research (4 credits)
. Dissertation Seminar (4 credits)
. Orientation of the Master’s Dissertation I (2 credits)
. Orientation of the Master’s Dissertation II (2 credits)
8 credits in the compulsory courses of the research group (the student must take the 2 courses corresponding to the group to which he/she is linked):
. Research core I and II in Memory, Collections and Heritage (4 credits each)
. Research core I and II in History Teaching (4 credits each)
. Research core I and II in Subjects, discourses and identities (4 credits each)
8 credits in disciplines of the Specific Core, which is composed of optional disciplines (the Thematic Special Topics offered by PPGH-UEPG, all with 4 credits) or elective (disciplines offered by other stricto sensu post-graduation programs related to the master’s research topic or object). To request the enrollment in any of these disciplines, the student must have the agreement of his/her advisor.
04 credits for the preparation and defense of the dissertation.
Teaching internship: The student on a scholarship must also obtain 04 credits referring to a teaching internship in higher education (60 hours), to be accomplished in a discipline taught by the advisor in an undergraduate course or in a higher education discipline indicated by him/her, in which the student assumes teaching activities under supervision.

PhD IN HISTORY
The mandatory subjects of the Doctorate course are offered annually and include:
. Culture and regionalities: theory and historiography: (4 credits)
. Thesis Seminars I and II (4 credits each)
. Nucleus of Advanced Studies I to IV (2 credits each, per line of research);
. Doctoral thesis supervision: ODT-I to IV (2 credits each)
. Individualized Studies I and II (4 credits each)
. Thesis defense (12 credits).
Doctoral students must also comply:
. 8 credits in elective courses
. 4 credits in Core Activities
. 8 credits in Individualized Studies
. 8 credits in Doctoral Teaching Internship (EDD-I and EDD-II – 4 credits each) – compulsory for scholarship holders and optional for non-scholarship holders.
. proof of the publication of 1 (one) qualified bibliographical production (book, chapter or article), or accepted for publication, and the presentation of 2 (two) full papers or abstracts at qualified events in the area and/or related areas.
